GSI @ 90 - Thursday 9th May, DCU St Patrick's Drumcondra
Join us at DCU St Patrick's Campus in Drumcondra on Thursday 9th of May to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Geographical Society of Ireland.
As part of marking this important milestone, we will be running our Annual Society Awards competitions, with panels for both the 2024 GSI Book Award and GSI Doctoral Research Award, and a presentation for the 2024 GSI Postgraduate Fieldtrip/Travel Award. 35th International Geographical Congress
The 35th International Geographical Congress takes place in Dublin from the 24th-30th August 2024. The IGC is the flagship event of the International Geographical Union and is organised every four years. IGC 2024 is being co-hosted by the Geographical Society of Ireland and the International Geographical Union, and will see a world of Geographers being welcomed to Dublin City University in August.

International Geography Olympiad
The International Geography Olympiad (iGeo) is an annual competition for the best 16 to 19 year old geography students from all over the world. The IGU International Geography Olympiad will take place in the University of Maynooth, on 19th to the 24th August 2024. For more info see the GeoOlympiad website.
